We know how you loved all creatures great and small and I remember, it was about the year 2001 while we were out walking together with our dog Timmy, we disturbed a young robin foraging in the gutter by the side of the road. He tried to fly across to the other side but he was hit by a passing car. You tried to reach him but another car came along and the wheels crushed his little body. You were inconsolable and blamed yourself for his death, for being there and disturbing him. I remember the tears falling from your eyes, how you cried for that little bird, you were heartbroken.
Now some years have passed since then and here we are in 2018. Some weeks ago our Linda and Matthew went to Low Barnes. Snow had fallen during the night and Matthew was hoping to get some nice wildlife pictures and guess what Angela, he did just that. A little robin appeared and seemed to be following them. Linda knelt down and dug her hand through the snow and into the soil and found a small grub. The robin sat on the ground watching her. She offered the grub to him and he took it from her hand. How amazing was that! At one point he even sat on Linda's handbag, a handbag that had belonged to you before you died. We like to think this is a sign from you to let us know you're alright and are always near us.
