Angela, a very special lady

During the early years Angela was a shy, sensitive child but as she grew she overcame her shyness and her lovely personality shone through. She was such a kind, caring girl and her confidence grew as the years passed by. We are so lucky to have shared our lives with her. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. We are very proud she is our daughter and feel privileged to have had her in our lives for 42 years. Now our hearts are broken and life won't ever be the same. Sadly, Angela was taken from us on 15th December 2011, just one year after being diagnosed with breast cancer. She never gave up her fight to live and her courage and determination to beat this cruel disease, and also to continue to think of others is to be commended. But her cancer was very painful and aggressive. Thankfully, she had her dearly loved partner, Derek by her side 24/7 to look after her and then Hartlepool and District Hospice also stepped in with their caring staff to make Angela as comfortable and pain free as possible during her final weeks. We are extremely grateful for their love and support while Angela was in their care. Hartlepool Hospice feel passionate about caring for individuals and their families affected by life limiting illnesses and the death of loved ones and they offer a diverse range of specialist palliative care and breavement support services. But without public support and fundraising they would not be able to continue vital care when and where needed. We would like to thank them for all the help and support they have given us during our difficult time. Now we'd like to give something back and hope to raise much needed funds for them so they can continue to help others suffering from this terrible disease.
